Sweet Tooth Hotel

A couple of weeks ago, my friend and I had a fun adventure in Dallas to the Sweet Tooth Hotel. It was an incredibly amazing and “SWEET” (hardy har) experience. It’s an interactive art experience created by several artists (Built By Bender, Jeremy Biggers, Shamsy Roomiani, Jojo Chuang, Chelsea Delzell, and Rob Wilson, Beau Bollinger, Goodies Cakery, and Ruben Burgess) who teamed up to create this unique experience. I saw experience because everything about it was meant to be experienced. From the employees uniforms, sinks that emit fog and sweet smells, talking stuffed animals and of course the rooms themselves.

There were several rooms with different “sweet” themes. My favorite room was the neon cactus room called the Sunset Lounge. Come to find out, it was inspired by one of my favorite movies “Drive” so no wonder I loved it so much! We had such a blast taking photos. I literally felt like this place was a fantasy come true. 9 year old Lisa-Frank-obsessed-me was in absolute heaven. I’m so glad we got to go. Needless to say we took as many photos are possible which are below. I hope they are as fun for you to look at as they were to take.

“Horizon” is a dream scene, based on Patsy Cline’s song “Sweet Dreams”.

A Horizon is where the earth and sky meet. It is the boundary of one’s field of vision where the known and the unknown meet. What lies beyond the Horizon is possibility of change. The viewer is encouraged to listen to the song while viewing the scene for the full complete installation.

We followed it up with a trip to Deep Ellum and some fun shopping adventures, including the incredible Flea Style!
